6 TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR SELF-ESTEEM AS A CHRISTIAN

Self-esteem is how we perceive our value as well as how we perceive others, which is often influenced by our beliefs about ourselves and our options, and these are not easy to change. Whatever you believe in, and think in your heart, you are likely to become.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 23:7a;

Causes of Low Self-esteem

There are only two limiting factors that cause low self-esteem:

  • Low self-esteem happens when you believe negative things about yourself.
  • When you allow what other people say about you to determine who you are.

But what you say about yourself or what you say about yourself does not determine you. What determines who you are is what God says about you.

TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR SELF WORTH

MAKE POSITIVE CONFESSIONS TO YOURSELF.

Whenever you feel less worthy, speak positive things to yourself. Tell yourself how special you are. Tell yourself that God loves you and that you are made in the image of God.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

PSALM 139: 14

A time comes when what others say about you will never affect you. Because you have fed on what God says you are so much that it has stuck to your memory

NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF WITH OTHERS

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

2 Corinthians 10:12

When you compare yourself with others, you may be left with doubt that God did not love you. But that is not true! You were not created to be that person.

YOU ARE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF. TRYING TO BE SOMEONE ELSE MAKES YOU THE SECOND VERSION OF SUCH A PERSON.

Rather than comparing yourself with others, compare your today with your yesterday. Always ensure that your today is better than your yesterday. That way, you stay happy, and it builds your confidence.

BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13

Not some things, but all things. You have to believe the word of God even when you do not feel it. When you believe in the word of God, the power to do exceedingly what you can do will be before you.

DO THE MISTAKE AND ACCEPT CRITICISM.

Doing the mistake and learning from it, is another way to improve your self-esteem.

In the course of practicing to perfect whatever you do, you will make mistakes. Do not be afraid to make mistakes.

When “The Great Paderewski” started studying piano, his teacher told him that his hands were too short to master the keyboard. Instead of discouragement, it became the driving force that made him a world-renowned pianist.

When you do not want people to laugh at your mistakes, you would not go far.

CELEBRATE YOUR LITTLE ACHIEVEMENT

Learn to celebrate the little things you did. Do not wait until you have broken a world record before you celebrate your success.

Success is a Journey, not a destination, the more you move, the more successful.

When you celebrate your little achievement, it encourages you to do more. It motivates you and makes you stay positive.
