Just as you grow daily in your body by eating nourishing food, you grow your faith by hearing the word of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. (Romans 10:17)
You must grow your faith so you can keep your journey of faith with God. When you get converted, your mind is still knowledgeable of your past lifestyle. It is all about your spirit-man. The old things you used to know are still in your mind, and they are opposing your belief in God. If you never attempt growing your faith in God, it wouldn’t be long, your unregenerate mind may gain momentum to make you backslide when circumstance occurs or when your faith is subjected to the test.
Growing your faith is synonymous with renewing your mind. Paul says in Romans
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
When he said “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” it means that the business of growing in faith is a continuous process and careful process. You must be meticulous about growing your faith.
Here are the three ways you can grow your faith
The Word of God
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)
The word of God is God’s manual and principle for us on earth. Anything you cannot find in the word of God, you should not do. When you spend time studying the word of God, you get to know what God says concerning your condition.
The word of God you know will guide you in the time of distress. By reading the word, you get encouraged, motivated, and your faith is strengthened in the Lord. There you will find out that God cares for you. You will hear him talk to you and instruct you on any circumstance that you are passing through. Are you down or about to give up? Read the Bible!
Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”

Fellowship with Brethren
Another way of growing in faith is by making a deliberate effort to attend Christian fellowship.
“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:25
As a member of a Christian fellowship, you will see people who have gone through difficult circumstances sharing their testimony on how they were able to persevere, and you will be encouraged to stick with your faith. The reason is that since you could see whom God has helped in a challenging time, you will come to believe that He will also do the same for you.
Also, it could be that such a person is passing through a difficult time but never stopped worshiping God. Then you could encourage yourself that your challenge is lighter. And you count it as the trial and persecution that the bible promises us but has assured us that if we endure to the end, we will be crowned with glory.
Exercise Your Faith
You will never know your level of faith until you have exercised it. Whenever you have read the bible, implement it. Remember that Faith without work is dead James 2:26.
The bible says you can heal the sick, so go out and pray for a sick person and watch God heal them. You have been given the power to preach the gospel, take your bible and talk to someone about Jesus.
In the same way that you grow muscle by exercising it, your faith also grows when you exercise it. As a child of God, you have great potential. God has made you great in Christ. Do you know who you are in Christ?
You are God’s special possessions (1 Peter 2: 9-10, Exodus 19:5), You will judge angels (1 Corinthians 6:3), You are seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Click here to read more.
It is when you get to know who you are in Christ, study the word of God, and exercise your faith in God.

Why you should grow your faith.
Desire to grow your faith in God so that you become mature to help the younger in faith brethren. You cannot always be young in faith. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Our journey of faith with God is never without persecutions and tribulations. You can only endure to the end by having faith in God.
“For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
Hebrews 5:13-14
The magnitude of how much you love God in the time of trouble is dependent on the faith you have in Him. Grow in your faith today and become a mature believer.
